Signal House

Signal House is a US CPaaS platform: you send SMS, MMS and group messages straight from your code, through an API, without going through Twilio.

The positioning fits in one sentence: the same channels as the big players, with a public price list. The company claims savings of up to 80% versus Twilio and 90% versus Plivo.

What you can plug in:

• 10DLC SMS: US 10-digit numbers for business texting, with A2P campaign registration.
• MMS: sending images, GIFs and videos.
• Group SMS: one thread with several recipients.
• Messaging API: direct integration with your CRM or existing stack.
• Number lookup: verification before sending, billed at $0.005 each.

Voice, RCS, toll-free numbers, short codes, alphanumeric sender IDs and Apple Business Messaging are announced as coming soon.

On pricing, everything is usage-based: $1 per local number per month with no minimum, dropping to $0.25 beyond 1,000 numbers; $0.0065 per outbound SMS segment; $0.02 per MMS. Carrier fees (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular) are passed through. A2P registration costs $4.50 for the brand and $15 for the campaign, one-off.

Live support is included on every plan. Beyond 500,000 segments per month you get a dedicated Slack channel, and Signal House states that rates stay negotiable based on volume.

Worth noting: the offering is centred on the US market (10DLC, US carriers). Check that before considering it for a European contact base.
